My trip to DR. FOSTER'S
to get a Fix of Blues

On Sunday 6th August 2000 I went over to Gloucester for the last event of the Blues Trail which was held at the DR. FOSTER'S Pub which is situated in the Docks. The band that were playing at this event was BOB BRUNNING's DELUX BLUES BAND.

The band, which featured the original bass player with FLEETWOOD MAC (who incidentally was using the same guitar) performed a mix of blues standards and original material.

1st SET
STOP MESSING ROUND
JUST A LITTLE BIT
I'M TORE DOWN
LOVE HER WITH A FEELING
THE THRILL IS GONE
COOL OPERATOR
RIDING TWO TRAINS
HELP ME
I WONDER WHO

About half way through this first set the band got us to clap along with one of the tunes, and whilst most of the audience started off clapping, I think I was the only one to keep going through the whole track, a fact that was not lost on the band as they commented on it after the show.

2nd SET
STEPPING OUT
I BELIEVE I'M IN LOVE
EVERY TIME I ROLL
I KNOW
MUSTANG SALLY
WOOLY BULLY
TULANE
TOO TIRED
GLORIA

During MUSTANG SALLY the lead singer came around with the microphone and persuaded some members of the audience (including me) to join in on the "Ride Sally Ride" part.

After the show I spoke to members of the band including BOB BRUNNING.
